Fagan’s Form Rewarded

The importance of Christy Fagan’s fitness to St Pat’s hasn’t gone undermentioned in recent memory. With his injuries largely being given as the primary reason for their inconsistent campaign last time out, the consensus leading striker in the league has already set about proving those claims correct by carrying the team on his back so far this season, picking up the first SWAI Player of the Month Award of the season after a goal-laden March.

If Fagan’s inability to string a run of games together last season is what prevented the Saints fromĀ mounting a serious challenge for the league, doing so this time around looks like it could result in the Inchicore outfit struggling to even maintain their quite underwhelming level of last year. After a spate of off-season changes to playing personnel, they’ve struggled to find their rhythm thus far, particularly in midfield, and have relied on Fagan’s goals against all of the below to at the very least stay within touching distance of their rivals in the early stages of this new season.
